About

We all have a critical role to play in finding and delivering climate solutions, which need to be prompt and scaled!   The earth is in a climate crisis!

The new Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published in August 2021 highlights that we must take urgent action to curb global heating and prevent catastrophe  July 2021 was the hottest month ever recorded on the planet since records began in 1879 (US National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration)   A strong Covid-19 pandemic origin theory is that it’s a zoonotic disease as a direct result of human destruction of natural habitats and displacing wildlife

This is a FREE multi-media digital platform primarily focusing on the UK’s charity sector (AKA third sector, civil society, non-governmental organisations…) and its fundamental role, responsibilities and actions in preventing, reducing, mitigating and alleviating the devastating impacts of global environmental disaster. The website information can be adapted and transferred to other countries and sectors including academic, public and corporate.

This resource is based on an agile co-produced methodology so it will updated frequently and all contributions are welcome.

The charity sector has a primary purpose for, ‘public benefit’, which is and should be intrinsically linked to all environmental impacts. Other sectors are increasing environment within their purpose via Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) integration or what was previously known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Funders and social charities must catch up with and collaborate with environment charities to create intra-sector strength and solutions or they are another part of the problem. Equally, inter-sector collaboration and collective impact is just as critical with the private, public, academic and charity sectors working together for a common climate cause.

We aim to help you, your organisations and networks to become eco-friendly and share the debate, strategy, actions and solutions. We aim to do this as simply and flexibly as possible by providing all things eco and charity with free  information, resources, tools and training to help us all take the steps needed and share learning, innovation and impacts. We will use an asset and strengths based approach so we don’t reinvent the wheel. We will refer to other sites, organisations, good practice and resources as well as creating our own to fill gaps. In essence we hope to create a one-stop-shop for all things eco and charity. We consider holistic charity themes including service delivery, communications, energy, finance, investments, policy, marketing and trading. We hope to launch the main site by the 18th of September 2021 when it will be launched as part of

The Climate Coalition https://www.theclimatecoalition.org/

So why are we doing this? and for free?
we know the environment crisis presents an astronomical challenge and existential threat to humanity and the natural world   we know it will produce a proliferation of social need like never before   and we also know that we all have the power, heart and energy to find and deliver solutions together

‘The challenge we need to meet individually, locally, nationally and globally is being better together towards a common purpose and to achieve collective impact as no one person, one organisation, one sector or one nation can successfully take on the sustainable transitions needed: economically, environmentally and technologically to meet and overcome our existing and future challenges.’
